REVIEW: Bane by L.J. Shen

L.J. SHEN! HAS DONE IT AGAIN! Another masterpiece that I can't stop reading from the very very first word.. Such an amazing book, I still have a book hangover from days away! Bane might not make my first love of Vicious done, but I love him so much. I can't get enough of him.

As the title of the book suggests, the story is about Bane, whom we've met before in Scandalous. He's not the usual alpha-type of hero, but as with most of Shen's hero quality, he's a total a-hole and has a questionable morals. He's rough, raw, has jobs that make you question your sanity for loving him nonetheless. Also.. Jesse. Jesse might just be my favorite heroine she's ever written. She's not a bitch, but she stands her ground and is a really tough cookie. She saves herself, and Bane too in this relationship. I love her and Bane's tumultuous relationship (or friendship) so much.

I love how this book is just not what I expected. As with all of her books, you just don't know where she's gonna take you but I'm telling you, trust her and you will love this book! Just trust her instinct. This book pushes boundaries and it might be uncomfortable at times but everything is wrapped nicely and the twisted drama is EVERYTHING!

Also, if you want to read this book don't forget to subscribe to L.J. Shen's newsletter so that you get the chance to read the extended epilogue she wrote for these characters. I'm so sad to be bidding farewell to these characters as I've loved the series but nonetheless I can't wait for her new series which will be about the 2nd generation called All Saints Sinners

REVIEW: Scandalous by L.J. Shen

OMG! OMG! OMG! Another Sinners of Saint series from L.J. Shen? I'm taking a day off and reading this right when the ARC was delivered to my kindle! This is one of the books in a series of interconnecting standalone so it's best when you've read the previous books even though they're all about different characters.

I've been patiently waiting for Trent's story ever since I finished reading Ruckus, and L.J. Shen once again didn't dissapoint! I love his story. The story is about Trent, a 32 years old single dad and Edie, an 18 years old daughter of his business partner. Even though in hindsight it may look wrong, but what I love about L.J. Shen is that at the end of the day, she makes the most hated broken asshole be loved in her books. Their story may not be conventional, but it's the one that grabbed my heart the most because Edie is such a head-strong character that is loving and has amazing qualities that you can't help but admire. Their love is complex with a lot of grey areas, but you can't help but root for these characters to have their happy ending.

I love this story so much, and for me, Edie stole the show. I have to say, Vicious will always be my favorite HotHoles, but Trent is a really intriguing character and you will love him because despite what live has thrown at him, and how broken he is, he is still trying for his daughter. These characters are both flawed, emotionally damaged, and has baggage, but they WILL find their happy ever after and that epilogue makes my tongue wagging for more!! Seriously, I don't think I ever want this series to end. Dear L.J. Shen, please continue the series with their offsprings!! I want more of these characters and I want more of Todos Santos!
