OMG!!!! BEST BOOK THIS FEW MONTHS! I honestly love it. I love Rachel Higginson's writing, I love how this book is paced, the emotion and angst, the hate-to-love type of story, the characters, EVERYTHING! EVERYTHING I TELL YA!
I was just drawn into this book from the first few pages and couldn't seem to stop reading about it. The story is about Vera Delane, a chef who decided to start over in her hometown of Chicago after few months of traveling and discovering her food-style and flaire. She has baggage that made her eventually travel Europe and halt her dreams of becoming a chef but then her father is sick and she has to go back to take care of him. So she started from ground up and made her own food truck, right opposite of a renowned restaurant Lilou, whose head cheaf is Killian Quinn, Vera's idol and sexy badboy who turned out to be quite an a**.
This book is the epitome of opposite attracts, which what drew me to the story because they couldn't be more different but somehow they just..WORK.
Seeing Vera fight her attraction to Killian and eventually both of them gave in is a very amazing process to watch. The book wraps up very nicely and I love this book and I can't wait to see the upcoming stand-alone about the other couple that's hinted in this one! Rachel Higginson, you once again made a cult book favorite.
I love Killian!
