REVIEW: Down London Road by Samantha Young

OMG! How did I just NOW read this book? Seriously! It's one of the best books I've read this year.. and how am I still surprised if I just LOVE everything Samantha Young writes?!

This is technically the second book of The Dublin Street Series (without counting short stories and novellas) and it's about Joss's friend, Johanna Walker. In the previous book we get a glimpse of Johanna and see how she mainly dates rich men (or as Joss say, sugar daddies). In this book, you'll see why she does what she does, chooses who she choose, and basically her background story. At first jumping to read this book, I was very skeptical because I honestly don't like heroines who are very materialistic. But Jo, she is not like that AT ALL! If anything, she is one of the most selfless heroine I've read in a long time. She is complex, caring, and just so self-deprecating it hurts to read sometimes how she is very self-conscious about herself. And Cam.. *sigh* he is one of the most amazing hero I've read and you just can't help but fall in love with him OVER AND OVER AGAIN!

Granted, the half page of the book they were dating other people but I feel like the circumstances wouldn't end up how it is without them being with other people first and realizing what they wanted initially from their partner. It truly is a journey of finding your own voice and I'm very glad to say both characters through the entire book had a great self-discovery and learns a lot about themselves and didn't just make rash decision as they would in the start of the book.

Everything ended up perfectly, it was a perfect book that I read in one sitting and once again, Samantha Young, your work is just SO PERFECT! This might just be my new favorite in the series (close call from Braden though Cam can come 2nd from him! LOL)
