I might have a new go-to author after reading this book! Wow.. what an emotional story. I love a good second-chance type of romance book, but this one has more to the story than just the romance itself.
The story is about Elliott and Wade, her best friend's brother who are each other's first loves and 'the one that got away'. They were engaged 7 years ago and have never met each other after he left for the army. Wade got back in town because of his father's sickness, and that's when they meet again.
Going into this book, I figured there will be a lot of flash backs towards the time when the hero and heroine were together, but surprisingly no. Honestly, it is so refreshing and you can still feel their connection. I love this book. I don't really like how Elliott and Wade can never seem to communicate freely and with the right way, but I guess it's just something that you have to endure while going through hard times like losing a parent.
Definitely a recommended read!
